Professor Dr. Muhammad Siddique is an expert and specialist in behavioral sciences ie psychology, CBT, Hypnotherapy, addiction therapy, marital counseling, and sex therapy, public health. He practices in Defence, Karachi, and teaches at various universities in Karachi. He graduated in Medicine from Hamdard University, Karachi, earned a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Karachi University, and completed an MPH from Baqai Medical University. Subsequently, he obtained his Ph.D. from the joint program of Hamdard University and the University of Leads. He also got Diplomas in Hypnotherapy and Advanced and Brief Psychotherapyand Sex therapy from California Institute and Advance Certificate Courses in PTSD and Advance Psycherapy from University of Masssuri, Columbia, USA, He also actively participated in dozens of National and International Seminars, workshops, symposias and Conferences of Psychiatry, Psychology, Behavioral Sciences, Mental and PublicHealth.
From his school days, Dr. Siddique was actively involved in literary activities and served as President of his school’s literary society. He has been the editor of KPH Bulletin, Asghar Medical Journal, and Faran Publlic health and Medical Journal.
Dr. Siddique’s specialized fields include mental health, public health management, addiction rehabilitation, marital counseling (Happy Marital Life), social work, rehabilitation, and hypnotherapy.
He completed advanced courses in trauma psychology, PTSD, and advanced psychotherapy from the University of Missouri, Columbia, USA, and further specialized in advanced hypnotherapy, hypnosis, brief psychotherapy, and NLP from the California Institute. Additionally, he received training from WHO’s Child Survival Program and the Japan Portage Program for special children. He also completed specialized courses in addiction rehabilitation through WHO’s DPRC.

35 Years Of Experience In Mental Health Services

Dr. Siddique began his career as the Chief Clinical Psychologist and Director at the 120-bed Karachi Psychiatric Hospital and Karachi Addiction Hospital. Later, he joined the 150-bed Asghar Psychiatric Hospital as Director, where he established an addiction therapy department. In 2000, he founded the GA Institute of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and served as its Founding Director. He also worked at Nazimabad Hospital and the Guidance and Counseling Center. In 2003, he joined OMG Hospital as Director and established its mental health department.

In 2000, he founded an NGO, Faran Foundation, and was elected as its Founding Chairman. In collaboration with the City District Government, he established the Kalri Hospital and Rehabilitation Center in Lyari in 2002 for mental health and addiction patients under challenging circumstances. This center was later handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) and is now known as the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Drug Addiction Rehabilitation Center.

Education and public health remain Dr. Siddique’s primary areas of interest. He has worked extensively in remote areas of Pakistan, particularly in disaster-stricken regions such as Kashmir and Balakot during the 2005 earthquake, collaborating with Professor Arshad Javed through platforms like Faran Foundation and Al-Khidmat Foundation.

From 1998 to 2014, Dr. Siddique taught Behavioral Sciences as a professor at Sir Syed Medical College, Tamir-e-Nau Teaching College, Baqai Medical University, Hamdard University, Preston University, and Indus University.

He was the first to introduce modern literature on PTSD in Urdu. Dr. Siddique has been organizing free monthly medical camps for mental health and addiction patients in underprivileged communities.

He is actively engaged with mental health organizations and has served as the General Secretary of the Mental Disorder Relief Society of Pakistan (MDRSP). He is also a member of the governing council of the Pakistan Psychological Association (PPA), the Secretary General of the Sindh Psychological Association (SPA), and currently serves as its President. Since 1990, he has been an active member of the Pakistan Psychiatric Society (PPS), where he has organized seminars, workshops, and symposiums on topics such as public health, mental health awareness, addiction, marital counseling, and personal development.

Currently, he serves as the Chairman of Faran Foundation, the Director of the Faran Institute of Behavioral Sciences and the Faran Mental Health Center, and the Convener of Al-Khidmat Foundation South Region Karachi.
