Sindh Psychological Association
The Sindh Psychological Association (SPA) is the premier academic and professional organization representing psychologists across Sindh. Established in March 1985 in Karachi during a specially convened convention, SPA has grown to become a vibrant platform for psychological professionals, fostering collaboration, advocacy, and professional development in the field of psychology.
Membership:
SPA boasts a diverse membership comprising several hundred qualified psychologists working in various sectors, including:
College and university teaching.
Private and public clinical psychology services.
Professional counseling in multiple domains.
Provincial and Federal Public Service Commission roles.
Professional counseling in multiple domains.
Mental health and community service programs.
Positions in health departments and medical institutions.
Psychological support and services for military personnel.
Organizational Structure:
SPA is managed by psychologists actively engaged in various professional fields. The organizational structure includes:
- Composed of approximately 15 elected or nominated members.
- Responsible for overseeing the association’s operations and strategic direction.
- Includes all Full, Associate, Life, and Student Members.
- Serves as the main consultative and decision-making body of the association.
